Fitness Boot Camps: What makes them so effective?

February 2, 2010 by

People across America are raving about their physique and weight loss results after taking fitness boot camps. So have these boot camps unleashed a new way to motivate people to exercise?

The answer is yes and there are five key drivers to boot camp success. First, boot camp companies are making clients pay upfront for routine exercise for a set time frame, usually 1 hour or 1.5 hours of exercise, 2 to 5 days per week, for 3-4 weeks. This shifts the clients mentality from maybe I will go to the gym today to I paid for this, I am committed and I am going. Second, the bootcamper is baseline tested at the beginning and the end of the boot camp, so there is incentive to work hard to see improvement and there are measurable results at the end. Third, the bootcamper is put into a group exercise environment that has like-minded and like-bodied people in the class. Typically there will always be different fitness levels in the class, so bootcampers do not feel alone nor left behind, yet feel inspired to improve by being amongst the bootcampers who are more in shape than themselves. Fourth, boot camping usually occurs in a very invigorating atmosphere such as a park, a beach, or a river promenade. The natural sunlight and fresh air energize bootcampers. One of the best boot companies in America holds several classes in different locations throughout Central Park to inspire its boot camp NY clients. Last, boot camps trainers usually come from group exercise backgrounds and bring high energy to workouts in a very tough yet very sympathetic and inspirational manner. Though many cities offer boot camps which are militaristic, with trainers wearing fatigues and yelling, it is the non-military style boot camps that are having a more broad based appeal. The largest boot camp New York company prides itself on being the largest and most successful company in the New York metro area due to its friendly, motivating atmosphere in which its clients thrive.

New York fitness boot camps really encompass all of the necessary components to truly motivate people. And this is why we are seeing and hearing so many success stories from bootcampers and will continue to hear them in the future.

High energy drinks are full of sugar. If you do not burn the sugar in exercise, then it will turn to fat.

If you take in more calories than you use in any given day, then you must add weight. If you want weight, just eat foods with lots of sugar, fats and calories and do not use them through exercise.

From the incomparably clueless Matthew Staver, quoted by the Worldnutdaily:
“Those who wish to revise American history are often ignorant of history,” said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. “Some secularists wish to revise history in order to bury America’s rich religious heritage.
“It was the Great Awakening that preceded the American Revolution. Without a religious revival, there would have been no lasting civil liberty, and without the American Revolution, there would be no America,” he said.

Apparently Staver needs to be introduced to the concept of post hoc reasoning.
