I'll check the cross street on my walk home tonight. I think it's Perry or Charles. The victorian top is from a shop on etsy called laboheme. She puts antique pieces & vintage clothes in her store. Lot's of neat things. I didn't buy it yet, you should check it out. I bet it's your size!

Momcat – That is a brilliant suggestion, and thank you. :-)

Thank you, Mickiq8 – actually, things are pretty much OK. I wrote at a really weak moment . . .

    Little Diamond . . . come visit. :-)

LOL, Daggero, you always make us laugh. Actually, the contractors were wonderful, and they were the kind of guys who are sincere and conscientious and they did a great job. Moving in is – as you so rightly say – always an adjustment, and all the fine tuning and getting things in place . . . aaarrgh!

AcadeMama – I need to reassure you immediately that my very best moves have been packed by foreign packers. Every single time – Tunisia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Qatar, and Kuwait – the movers have packed extremely well. Mostly I worry about things disappearing – and they can. Anywhing really really important, I pack myself or carry back myself. But we have had almost no breakage – and the furniture – well furniture suffers in multiple moves, but we also have to take some responsibility. Our furniture has suffered more moves than most furniture, and 12 years in storage takes its toll on furniture, especially our older antique and semi-antique pieces. We had NOTHING missing from our storage move.

KTDP – I love hardware stores. :-) And you are so right – especially if you go early in the morning when the contractors are there. You can also learn a lot on the internet these days, and all the videos they have to show you how to do things!

To all – thank you for your good thoughts. Unpacking is just a misery we all have to go through sometimes, and you really helped me through it.
