Bosses Day 2010

When is Boss’s day for 2010? 

Answer: Saturday October 16, 2010. 

 

Now that we have the date clear, the next BIG question is what to buy for your boss? Now put aside for a moment all quibbling about your boss, about the fact that she or he might not be the best boss in the world. For one day, Bosses Day 2010, treat them like a queen or king. Being a boss is not always easy and if you put an imperfect human being into a difficult position, of course you will get some interesting results. But like I said, lets put that on one side and consider for a moment the best possible present. 

 

Here are is a fabulous idea. 

1. Go to Amazon.com. I am amazed that people still do not realize that Amazon sells everything in addition to books. Amazon is the Walmart of the web. Why not sit  at your work desk and have Amazon deliver it right to you at your office. And you can get paid (you are doing this at work right?) while you do it. 

2. Amazon bestseller lists. Well Amazon, like Walmart, is huge. Lets cut the search time down. Go to the left hand side and look for a button or text called bestsellers. Browse through the categories to find a category that you know your boss is either interested in or you know will contain something fun. Then check out the bestsellers in that category. Don’t think about it too much. For bosses, the thought is the main thing and with Amazon bestsellers you are more likely than not to get it right. 

 

Here is a fun story. On last bosses day I bought my boss a big box of Clifs protein bars, specifically I bought the mixed box. Now my boss is kinda large and definitely not into the whole healthy eating lifestyle. More like barbecues every weekend and take away pizza in the week. But the bars were on the bestseller list and being short of time, I made a quick choice. I was amazed, he really liked them. He realized that I had seen that he is often under stress and at those times a quick healthy energy fix is the perfect treat. Also, because they came in a mixed flavor set he could have some fun with the different types. 

 

That is my one recommendation

 

Here is another. Buy your boss a toy. People love toys. Check out ToysRUs or any big retailer like the A one above (I don’t need to spell out who I am a fan of now do ?). Something furry and fun, something electronic and geeky, something bubbly and pink, there is a whole world of cute, interesting and different surprises out there.
