Buying Tips for Car Subwoofers

There are several kinds as well as sizes of car subwoofers available today. Although the quality of standard OEM sound gear has improved over time, you’ll still require some kind of car subwoofers in the speaker system to make that full sounding bass that many people are fond of when listening to our home stereo systems.
You can get subwoofers ranging in size from 6 inches up to eighteen inches in diameter from dozens of car electronics providers. Oftentimes a shopper will obtain a certain make subwoofer in the biggest size offered convinced that “bigger” must be “better”. And then after getting it home, they will notice that they have hardly any room to dedicate to the sub enclosure that’s necessary, let alone they failed to budget for the proper amplifier they’ll need to power their huge sub.
Planning ahead is vital when upgrading your car or truck sound system using a bass speaker or subwoofer. But it is extremely satisfying and enjoyable for those who follow a couple of basic strategies. If you are limited on available space and simply want better bass than the normal full-range audio speakers can handle, you then may possibly look at one of the amplified enclosed subs. They’re effortless to add and you’ll find them offered by companies like Boss, Infinity and Bazooka. They’re small 6 to 8 inch subwoofers installed in small enclosures or tubes and they’ve a simple amplifier incorporated into the unit. Since they provide a subwoofer, enclosure and amplifier included into one little package, they should be a person’s most affordable choice even while providing the most compact presence when it comes to space.
But if you like rap music, popular music or just about any music and songs where you want deep bass which can shake the windows, then you will want to select individual components. In the past a shopper would have to opt for either a sub made for SPL (loudness) or SQ (musical sound quality) which typically linked to size, however nowadays there are many subs offered that happen to be well-known for both.
So the first place to start out when looking for a subwoofer system is almost always to decide the amount of storage space you would like to devote to your subwoofer enclosure and power amp. You can do this by starting with smaller subwoofers like eight inch. Examine their particular specs to see which kind and size enclosure your selected subwoofer needs. There are two basic kinds of sub boxes which are sealed and vented. The small sealed subwoofer boxes will likely be smaller then any vented enclosure in most situations. So if you begin looking at sealed enclosures you will get a good idea of the minimum volume of space needed. Typically, the larger the subwoofer, the more air is moved so the more bass is produced.
The second step would be to see the power specifications of your selected subwoofer. Simply match up the recommended power and match it to a power amplifier. Consider the exterior dimensions of the amplifier and recognize you will need a little more area for air circulation and electrical wiring and that should enable you to calculate the area needed for your complete subwoofer setup.
As you can imagine, even a 12 inch subwoofer and amp installation could quite possibly take a lot of trunk area or hatch space in modern vehicles. You can find many different subwoofers from brands like Alpine, Boss, JL Audio, Kicker, Lanzar, MTX, Pioneer and Rockford Fosgate just to mention a few. Several make available slim mount or shallow mount subwoofers in addition to regular subs. The shallow subs enable mounting in scaled-down boxes which can be installed behind or under a seat in certain applications.
So you really should not be afraid of the decision making process. There are more choices to think about such as single or dual voice coil subs and the benefit of each. In most cases a dual voice coil design subwoofer will permit more flexible electrical wiring methods which is especially important when operating 2 or more subwoofers.
From my experience throughout the years, 10 inch subwoofers are definitely the most popular and will definitely give you a big assortment of factory built subwoofer boxes to select from. In addition to the typical subwoofer boxes there are many special fit enclosures made for specific vehicles. Any time you find a custom-fit subwoofer enclosure you will see it will save you on area since they are manufactured to fit into areas of wasted space in automobiles.
Again, if you stick to the simple steps of estimating your allowable space for subwoofer and amplifier before buying, you will end up much happier with the outcome. Getting car subwoofers can be simple and easy.
Bosses Day 2010

When is Boss’s day for 2010?
Answer: Saturday October 16, 2010.
Now that we have the date clear, the next BIG question is what to buy for your boss? Now put aside for a moment all quibbling about your boss, about the fact that she or he might not be the best boss in the world. For one day, Bosses Day 2010, treat them like a queen or king. Being a boss is not always easy and if you put an imperfect human being into a difficult position, of course you will get some interesting results. But like I said, lets put that on one side and consider for a moment the best possible present.
Here are is a fabulous idea.
1. Go to Amazon.com. I am amazed that people still do not realize that Amazon sells everything in addition to books. Amazon is the Walmart of the web. Why not sit at your work desk and have Amazon deliver it right to you at your office. And you can get paid (you are doing this at work right?) while you do it.
2. Amazon bestseller lists. Well Amazon, like Walmart, is huge. Lets cut the search time down. Go to the left hand side and look for a button or text called bestsellers. Browse through the categories to find a category that you know your boss is either interested in or you know will contain something fun. Then check out the bestsellers in that category. Don’t think about it too much. For bosses, the thought is the main thing and with Amazon bestsellers you are more likely than not to get it right.
Here is a fun story. On last bosses day I bought my boss a big box of Clifs protein bars, specifically I bought the mixed box. Now my boss is kinda large and definitely not into the whole healthy eating lifestyle. More like barbecues every weekend and take away pizza in the week. But the bars were on the bestseller list and being short of time, I made a quick choice. I was amazed, he really liked them. He realized that I had seen that he is often under stress and at those times a quick healthy energy fix is the perfect treat. Also, because they came in a mixed flavor set he could have some fun with the different types.
That is my one recommendation
Here is another. Buy your boss a toy. People love toys. Check out ToysRUs or any big retailer like the A one above (I don’t need to spell out who I am a fan of now do ?). Something furry and fun, something electronic and geeky, something bubbly and pink, there is a whole world of cute, interesting and different surprises out there.
