My friend

A good friend of mine has wondered, even as a young boy, why the second mole on his entire body ended up on the middle of his nose. Knowing that moles can appear anywhere, I also wondered about the same thing. His research on various mole removal techniques was initiated by his desperate attempts at finding different methods of mole removal to conceal his ugly mole.
He first heard that natural mole removal is the easiest and the most painless way of removing his mole. This is completed with the use of cosmetics and also different types of accessories to cloak the mole. Even though he is a man, he has been carting around face powders and creams with him wherever he goes.
When we went to college, he took medical courses which specialize in different conditions of the skin. It was then that he discovered more about moles. He found out that moles are also called nevi or nevus. He also learned that different types of skin moles exist. He found that some of the different types of skin moles have the possibility of developing into cancer, though most are just harmless lesions like congenital and halo nevus. Thankfully he found that the lesion in his nose was not cancer.
We didn’t really keep in touch after we left college, but I did find out that he does mole removals as a great dermatologist. What began as a personal obsession with moles has turned into a talent and skill which allows him to help others with their mole problems. Using one of these three known methods of excision, this will mean removing the mole and its surrounding skin cauterization, this is performed by burning the mole off and shaving, this will only take off the part of the mole that shows, many lives have been changed by him.
The only surprising thing that I also heard about him is that even though he is already an expert on the different methods of mole removal, he hasn’t removed his own mole at all.

What Resveratrol Can Really Do For You
August 20, 2009 by Dunkin · 3 Comments
Beginning with the now-legendary coverage of resveratrol in “60 Minutes”, resveratrol based supplements are now some of the most sought-after products in the health food world. And for good reason–the substance has after all been shown to help people achieve a much-improved physical and mental state, making them look and feel younger. Resveratrol supplements has also proved to be an effective aid in weight loss programs.
As significant as these discoveries are, what is even more impressive is that a resveratrol supplement may actually be able to help lower blood cholesterol levels and perhaps even prevent the occurrence of certain types of cancer. Those reasons should be enough to give resveratrol a try.
The question that remains however are how to buy resveratrol and what types of supplements should you look for. There are a few issues to consider in this regard, with the most important one being to go for the company that has a proven track record of providing high quality resveratrol products. A good way to find out is by doing some research on the Internet and reading through user reviews of the products that they have on offer. You should of course be wary of seemingly impartial reviewers who are simply paid by certain manufacturers to hype their products.
One other thing you have to keep in mind is that resveratrol products don’t fall under FDA jurisdiction, simply because resveratrol is not a drug. What this means is that manufacturers of such products aren’t subject to the same restrictions that pharmaceutical companies are. This is why you should be extra careful that what you are buying is indeed resveratrol and not some other product that has been mislabeled.
Perhaps the best way to protect yourself against scams is by ordering resveratrol product samples from companies that are willing to let you try them out for free. This is a good way to find out if the product is indeed right for you and if you would like to continue taking it. Makes sure that you read the fine print before ordering your samples however, in order to make sure that you are not going to be scammed into buying one or more bottles of the same product at full price.
Basically, the process of purchasing resveratrol products is pretty much like buying any other health food supplement on the Internet. Make sure that the company you are buying from is on the level and that they have a good track record of satisfied customers who have tried out their wares beforehand. It is your health we are talking about here after all, and products that don’t do as they advertise will not only be a waste of time and money, they can also possibly endanger your health as well. Keep a close eye out for scams, make your choice carefully and compare the offerings from different manufacturers before you make your decision, and you will be able to realize all the health benefits that resveratrol can give to you.

The Atkins Diet
April 12, 2009 by Dunkin · 6 Comments
Today there are many diets out there to choose from, and if you want to lose weight, it can be a bit difficult to figure out which diet is for you. However, one of the top diet choices out there today is Atkins. Of course before you start any diet you probably want to know a bit more about it and how it works. So, let’s take a look at how the Atkins Diet got started, how it works, who it works best for, and more so you can make the right choice.
Overview of the Atkins Diet
The Atkins Diet is a popular diet that was developed by Dr. Atkins. The entire diet is based on the theory of this doctor is that the main problem for people who are overweight is that they eat too many carbohydrates and their body is extra sensitive to them. His idea is that the body and how it processes the carbs you take in each day is what makes you gain more weight. Basically Dr. Atkins feels that many people eat too many carbohydrates, which leads to insulin resistance. In order to remedy this problem, the diet is one that restricts the intake of carbs and focuses on eating a diet that is high in protein. You end up reducing the amount of carbs that you eat each day to make your body start burning off the fat on the body as its fuel.
People the Diet Works Best For
While this diet has been shown to be effective for many people, it seems to work the best for people who really do have an insulin resistance build up in their body. Also, people who are hypoglycemic can really benefit from this diet as well if they are trying to lose weight.
Pros and Cons
You will find that just like any other diet, there are definitely both pros and cons with Atkins diet. Let’s take a look at a few of the pros and cons you’ll find if you try this diet.
- Pro #1 – It’s a Simple Diet – One of the main pros that so many people love is that it is a very simple diet to follow. Once you learn what foods you are supposed to be eating, those you should avoid, and learn to count carbs, it really is a diet that is easy to follow.
- Pro #2 – Finding Your Own Level of Carbs – Another great pro is that the diet does focus on finding the level of carbs that works best for you. Some people may be able to eat a bit more than others, but the focus is to figure out what works for you.
- Pro #3 – A Popular Diet – The Atkins Diet is a popular diet as well. This is a pro because it means that you can easily find information on the diet and support as you are trying to follow it as well.
- Con #1 – You Miss Out on Cancer Fighting Fruits and Vegetables – One of the main cons of this diet is that because of the big restriction on carbs, you actually miss out on some of the most important cancer fighting fruits and vegetables that you need. Add to this that you’re eating more red meat, which too much of can cause cancer, and you may create a dangerous situation.
- Con #2 – You Always Have to Count Carbs – Many people don’t like the fact that they are always having to keep track of the carbs they eat. This means that every single thing that goes in their mouth must be counted, which can get old after awhile.
- Con #3 – Miss Out on Necessary Nutrients – Probably one of big cons to this diet is the fact that you miss out on many necessary nutrients that your body needs, since you cannot eat many foods. While some minerals and vitamins can be taken in a supplement, some of the important phytonutrients that you need cannot be replaced by taking a supplement.
Foods You Can and Can’t Eat
There are several different phases of the Atkins diet and each phase affects the food that you can and cannot eat as well. When you are going through the first two weeks of the Atkins plan, you are only allowed to have 20 grams of carbs each day, and the carbs that you can eat include vegetables that are low in carbohydrates, such as tomatoes, lettuce, and broccoli. During this time you can’t even eat fruits, potatoes, breads, or yogurt, since they have too many carbs. You can’t take in caffeine or alcohol during this time either.
As you go into the second stage of this diet you are allowed to go up to 25 grams of carbs each day. After you get to the weight you want to be, then you can slowly introduce some good carbs into your diet once again, but you have to make sure that you don’t gain back the weight that you have lost. Some of the things that you can add to your diet include plenty of proteins, such as various meats, like red meat, bacon, and you can even add eggs.
The Opinion of the Medical Community
So, you may be wondering what the opinion of the medical community happens to be. Well, the medical community often criticizes Atkins dieting plan, feeling that there are many dangers to going on a diet that is so low on carbs and so high on protein. Since you cannot eat many fruits and vegetables, doctors fear that people don’t get the nutrients that their body really needs to be healthy. Also, all the fat that is taken in on this diet can be very dangerous. The American Heart Association definitely is concerned with the diet because of the high fat, and the American Dietetic Association is also concerned about it because of the lack of nutrition the diet offers.

Pain Management And Treatments That Are Available
February 17, 2009 by Dunkin · 5 Comments
What options are there when pain strikes. This depends on how severe the pain is, and where in the body the pain occurs . If the pain is simply a headache, toothache or a pain where you know the cause, such as a fall or graze, then an plain pain killer will usually be enough. For toothache pain killers that contains Ibuprofen is the correct choice, toothache is often accompanied by inflammation in the troubled area, Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory and will therefore help to decrease the inflammation. If the pain persists you should get medical advice, as the pain could be the symptom of a more serious medical problem. Pain is how your body tells you that something is wrong, do not ignore the message if pain is persistant.
Pain can be separated into two types, chronic and acute pain. Acute pain is usually a short term pain that recedes with no further treatment, has no serious underlying problems associated with it and normally needs nothing more than simple over the counter pain medication. Chronic pain on the other hand is much more serious, it generally persists and is likely to be associated with an underlying condition or injury. It can often start from something like a sprain or infection that then becomes more serious, or it can be caused by a developing disease or cancer. Chronic pain can persist for months, or even years. As well as a need to treat the main cause, pain killers that are stronger than normal pain killers is normally required. Among the most common medications include tramadol, ultram and ultracet, with tramadol being the most popular. These pain medications aren’t scheduled as controlled substances, it is therefore possible to order tramadol online. In many cases pain medication is prescribed along with seperate treatments to treat the cause of the problem.
Probably the commonest type of pain we all experience is headaches. Headaches may well disappear without recourse to any treatment, normal pain medication will usually suffice to lessen the pain. Migraine is a more severe form of a headache and can be caused by several conditions. A migraine can be accompanied by other conditions, for example changing moods, sensitivity to light, one sided headache and nausea. A migraine may only last for a few hours, but might continue for a few days. Anyone suffering from a migraine should get medical attention as soon as possible.
For pain that is associated with muscles and joints, physiotherapy is often used, and can in many cases result in the complete removal of the underlying problem. Electrical stimulation is a technique used, sometimes as a last resort. Electrical stimulation interrupts pain signals in the spinal cord. Acupuncture may also be used to try and lessen pain, fine needles are place at key points on the body, the needles disturb the flow of spasms through the body. Fine needles may be used in areas removed from the source of the pain.
The main thing to observe, is that if a pain becomes serious or unbearable, especially if it persists, seek medical advice without delay, it could be due to a more serious underlying problem.
