There are many different places where you can start and keep a career in photography. Many people do not think about some of the lesser known opportunities. Most think of things like weddings and other events as a great way to have a career in photography, but that is not all that is out there. Those can be great, but do not think they are your only options. Another common job would be doing portraits, but that is not always something that can bring about creative satisfaction for those behind the lens.
There are plenty of opportunities that many do not think about when they are starting out with a career in photography. There are pictures everywhere, and someone has to take them. Think about your local paper, and various companies that put out catalogs. There are always ways to sell creative works though stock photo companies. These can be great opportunities to make money while thinking about where you want your career with a camera to go. You may have to do some searching around, but these jobs are out there.
One of the best ways to find work for your career in photography would be to make good contacts in the business. That can take time though. What you want to do is to use the tools that you can find online to make contacts and get freelance work. This would include any and all job sites that you can find which list creative jobs. Most do this. You can also sign up for employment matching services to see if something comes up. Normally, you would bid on jobs and the employer would then choose the best candidate. Be sure to put your best food forward.
